Wait for Windows 7 or upgrade to Vista now.

Should you upgrade your Windows XP computer to Vista or wait for Windows 7? Having actively used the Beta version of Windows 7 since its public release on Jan 12, I would have to say....wait.Check out windows 7 at the following link. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/
There is really no business need to upgrade from XP to Vista at this time. The only time it would actually make sense to upgrade would be if you're replacing a dead PC in the office. Beyond a dead PC, there is no pressing need to upgrade to Vista at this time and Windows 7 looks to be a solid replacement for both XP and Vista.
There is a noticeable performance increase when using Windows 7 on the same PC hardware as Vista. Microsoft has actually made the operating system more lightweight so that it can easily be installed even on the new low powered Netbooks that have become so popular.
Look for more posts on Windows 7 Beta in the future as I test the OS on other machines and begin installing commonly used applications like iTunes and Quicken/Quickbooks. My current installation includes Kaspersky Anti-virus which is being made available for Windows 7 testers. Please keep in mind that Beta software should not be used on your main or work computer.
